Situation Paper Assignment

Due: December 18th (or before you leave for break) (in your folder!)
Length: 5 - 7 pages

Sources:
At least 3 different philosophers; 3 examinations of your topic (internet sources must be respectably authored and from a legitimate source -- wikipedia is not a legitimate, authored source)
Be sure to cite everything appropriately! If you aren't sure about a source, ASK!

The Topic:
Research a specific situation of freedom and responsibility. Tie the foundations and manifestations of this topic to the readings we have done and the conversations we have had for class. Make this paper an ideological look at a particular situation. Be very clear how this paper topic ties to at least three of the different philosophers we have read. Cite these readings in a way that makes clear that you understand the concepts and thoughts related to each thinker.
Remember you are examining your topic from the perspective of social responsibility, citizenship, and the freedoms and obligations given to you under social contract. Therefore, please think about and provide argument for the following query: What are the implications of your particular reading of the balance between freedom and responsibility as illustrated by your situation?
